I am studying pre history history (i.e. the neolithic revolution in farming).
Much of this was caused by climate change, that made it hard to hunt and gather. Farming meant a lot harder work, but at least you could eat.
So they are holding a climate change meeting in Asia...China is balking at the emissions ceiling...they prefer to be rich to breathing.
But Drudge points out that reading between the lines you see China's greenhouse gases are less because they forcibly abort to slow population growth.
But the dirty little secret of global warming is ...methane. From cows.
And one of the major producers of methane is...using cow manure in rice paddies.
We grow organic rice. we mix cow manure with rice chaff, mix well using a handplow (large rototiller). Let it sit in the slowly flowing (high oxygen) water till the weeds are gone and the mulch is full of nice high nitrogen nutriants, then we have the farmers plant seeds by hand.
Well this results in methane. So we are supposed to use nitrogen fertilizer, not manure (money to multinationals) and we are supposed to use less water (more money to multinationals who sell herbicide).
Right. So much for the "green" movement.
